Our Story

Arc Equity Group traces its roots back to July 2007, when Brian began his career as a commercial real estate broker. He spent the first three years specializing in retail and office leasing in Chicago’s southwest suburbs before transitioning to multifamily in 2010—a move that marked a pivotal shift in his career. Over the following decade, he built a successful multifamily brokerage business and assembled a dedicated team focused on the sale of suburban apartment complexes.

In 2016, Troy Beebe joined Brian as a brokerage partner, and their shared investment vision led to the formation of Arc Equity Group in 2018. They began investing as limited partners in syndications and soon transitioned into direct acquisitions, leveraging relationships built through years of brokerage experience. With a primary focus on joint venture partnerships, Arc expanded further in 2022 with the addition of Danny Baylis, strengthening the firm’s investment platform and market reach.

Grounded in a long-term approach to real estate investing, Arc focuses on acquiring high-quality multifamily assets for extended hold periods. The firm partners with accredited investors, joint ventures, 1031 exchange buyers, and family offices to strategically grow its portfolio across key Midwest markets.

  • Brian Kochendorfer

    PRINCIPAL

    Brian Kochendorfer is the Founder and Principal of Arc Equity Group. With 18 years of experience in commercial real estate and over $900 million in transactions, he has served as a general partner in more than 800 multifamily units and a limited partner in over 400 units. Brian also serves as President and Principal at Essex Realty Group, one of Chicago’s leading multifamily brokerage firms. At Arc, he leads the firm’s acquisition and operational strategy, focusing on long-term value creation through disciplined investment and asset management.

  • Troy Beebe

    CO-FOUNDER

    Troy Beebe co-founded Arc Equity Group in 2018, helping lead the firm’s early acquisitions and strategic direction. Prior to Arc, he built a top-performing multifamily brokerage team at Essex Realty Group alongside Brian Kochendorfer. Troy began his career at IBM and earned his MBA from Northwestern’s Kellogg School of Management in 2021. He is also the founder of Saga Growth Partners, a firm focused on acquiring and scaling small businesses in the private equity space.

  • Danny Baylis

    INVESTOR RELATIONS

    Danny Baylis joined Arc Equity Group in 2022 to support strategic growth, focusing on sourcing new investments and building investor relationships. With over six years of real estate investing experience—including as a successful passive investor—Danny combines his background in multifamily and leadership in tech sales to help others build wealth through real estate.
